I've been playing drums for as long as I can remember really. Got my first set of drumsat  the age of twelve and never looked back. Started to play in bands at thirteen and I started to teach at sixteen.

Soon after began the process of collecting material and (re-)writing my own material. It was only a matter of time before I would start publishing books. Writing music interfered with this heavily so the books had to wait.

Work at Skillz

When in 2011 Dennis and I started the Skillz Drum Academy the need for our own material started to grow. But certainly I wasn't going to write a book for beginners. No sir, this had to be an Encyclopedia of Drumming. Well, that's how it turned out to be. Almost 2500 pages long, eight interactive parts and almost 25000 hyperlinks further Level 1 was finally finished.
