Rudiment #35
Single Dragadiddle
The Single Dragadiddle (#35 of the 40 P.A.S. certified essential or standard rudiments) is a rudiment where we play a Single Paradiddle in 16th notes and we double up the first note to 32nd notes. The first note stays accented while the second one is not acented. This is a hand-to-hand pattern which means it alternates between starting on the Right Hand and the Left Hand.
Sticking
Rrl r r Llr l l
Notice the permutated Five Stroke Roll sticking in here. If you would start the pattern on the third 16th note (r r or l l) it would be more obvious.
