Five Stroke Roll
The Five Stroke Roll (#7 of the 40 P.A.S. certified essential or standard rudiments) is a five note pattern which consists of two unaccented Double Strokes and one accented Single Stroke. This is a hand-to-hand pattern which means it alternates between starting on the Right Hand and the Left Hand.

7a
This exercise shows the Five Stroke Roll in triple meter. We permutate the pattern so it starts on the accent. This should feel like the triplet pattern where you play singles in triplets accenting the quarter note (Control Strokes: Down - Up - Tap - Down - Up - Tap) and then double the unaccented notes.
