Rudiment #9
Seven Stroke Roll
The Seven Stroke Roll (#9 of the 40 P.A.S. certified essential or standard rudiments) is a seven note pattern which consists of three unaccented Double Strokes and one accented Single Stroke.
The Seven Stroke Roll should feel like a four note pattern where you accent the fourth note (Tap - Up - Tap - Down). Then you double the unaccented notes.
If you want to know more about Control Strokes or Dynamics in general please go to C4 and/or S4 in Level 1.
